Privacy policy

Rubber Duck Labs LLC · Effective [DATE]

The short version: the website collects nothing, the Examiner apps collect nothing personal, and we never see your card details.

§ 1The website

rubberducklabs.io sets no cookies. It runs no analytics and no trackers. Every file on it, fonts included, is served from our own site. Nothing is loaded from third parties.

Our host, Cloudflare, may keep standard server logs to run and protect the service. [CONFIRM WITH LEGAL REVIEW: Cloudflare log retention wording]

§ 2Examiner apps

This covers Examiner: Part 107, Examiner: EPA 608 and any later Examiner app.

  • We collect no personal data.
  • There are no accounts.
  • Your progress is stored only on your device.
  • After your real exam, the app may ask an optional, anonymous survey: whether you passed, and which topics surprised you. It carries no identifiers, and you can skip it.

§ 3Blind Taste

[DRAFT FROM THE BLIND TASTE BRIEF: CONFIRM EVERY LINE WITH THE OWNER]

  • Account. Your email, or your Apple or Google sign-in. The tasting sheet works without an account; your tastings then stay on your phone.
  • Tastings. Your readings, calls, notes and timestamps, synced to your account when you are signed in.
  • Label scans. The label photo is sent to our server to identify the bottle. We keep the text read from the label and the identification. [CONFIRM: is the image itself kept, and for how long?]
  • Product analytics and crash reports. We use PostHog for product analytics and Sentry for crash reports. [CONFIRM: what each collects, and opt-out]
  • Export and deletion. You can export all your tastings from the account screen. [CONFIRM: in-app account deletion, required before launch]
  • Wine facts on the bottle card are public information, not data about you.

§ 4Purchases

Apple and Google process all purchases. Rubber Duck Labs never receives your payment card details. The stores tell the app only that a purchase was made, so it can unlock.

§ 5Email to us

When you email support or ask about studio work, we keep your message only as long as we need it to answer you.

§ 6Children and age

Our apps and this site are not directed at children under 13. Blind Taste is for adults 21 and older.

§ 7Changes

If we change this policy, we post the new version here with a new effective date.
